The 2010 Akisphere footbag net doubles videos are online

The 2010 Akisphère was a great tournament, the weather was good on finals day which is a requirement for a successful outdoors tournament and the level was high. Watch François Depatie-Pelletier and Gilles Demers take care of the opposition in the doubles finals match. This was their final preparation for the 2010 World Footbag Championships in which the made the finals. Although they lost that match it is remembered as one of the best doubles finals ever but without the fierce opponents they had in Montreal, PT Lovern and Manu Bouchard, it would have been more difficult for them to reach for the top.

The 2015 World Footbag Championships Freestyle ''The Finals Night'' virtual DVD is ready

Yep 2015 was a great year at the World Footbag Championships and the freestyle competition was certainly hot. Pro Kicker production is proud to present it's latest release: Freestyle, The Finals Night.


It's a complete recollection of everything that happened that night:

• Team Freestyle, a long clip of the three teams that performed in the finals as well as a separate clip for each routine.
  Teams: Struz / Simku, Mayo / Garcia and Sládek / Tucek
  All the routines were nice but the top 2 stand out with more preparation and much more preparation in the case of the winners

• Women's routines also includes a long clip of the 5 finalists in the order that they performed and a separate clip for each of them.Women: Chrissy Fryer, Dorota Wojtasiuk, Caroline Birch, Cassandra Taylor and Paloma Mayo.
  Most of the women would probably want to have a chance to redeem themselves in their routines but the champion Paloma Mayo from Spain who offered us a historical dropless routine for the win. First time a spanyard wins the routines in any open category at Worlds.

• By now you probably know the recipe, one long clip and one solo for each of the performers Men' routines: Jakub Mosciszewski, Ken Somolinos, Taishi Ishida, Jim Penske, Evan Gatesman, Nick Landes, Vasek Klouda and Milan Benda.
  This finals round of routines was something. All the men performed with high difficulty levels and control from the 8th to the first. Vasek Klouda was the only one to perform a dropless routine but the highest drop count was 2 which is awesome at this level. Milan Benda from Czech Republic took the crown with an intensensely energetic display.

• Finally the Circle Contest was separated in two phases, Variety and Density and I produced a clip for each.
  Circle contest: Milan Benda, Jim Penske, Evan Gatesman and the king Vasek Klouda.
  I wasn't sure about circle being displayed on stage like this as sometimes it's hard to film as the 4 contestants are all there. This time up the stage was big enough so that when each of the players took their turn there was more than enough room to shoot at a cleared angle. This turned out to be great all four players offered crazy tricks and strings with Vasek Klouda and Milan Benda clearly on top. Vasek, the footbag freestyle living legend, hooked up another Gold medal to his already impressive collection.

This was a fun tournament and I filmed a lot of great shots. If you love this sport as much as I do you will want to check this material in and out. 2014 World Footbag Championships Freestyle Routines Finals - Online now

This has been a long time coming but finally I published the online virtual DVD featuring all the freestyle finals routines from Worlds 2014 in Paris. You can see them all at: http://wfc14freefinals.footbagarchives.com/  The trailer is free.



I made a clip with all the routines for Men's, Women's and Team's categories showing all the competitors in the order that they performed. I also made a separate clip for all the routines so each one of them can be purchased individually. So if you want to see and / or download your routine it will set you back 1 Euro.

The World Footbag Championships 2012 net finals entirely covered with fresh videos and comments

It took a little longer than expected but here they are, the newest videos covering the net finals of the 2012 World Footbag Championships with my description and comments on the matches added.

You can also watch the complete matches with scores and a lot of slow motion in HD on demand here.

This was a historical moment as the Championships went to Poland for the first time. The crew over there did a great job, it wasn't perfect but it was a lot of fun to play in this tournament.

The 2010 World Footbag Championships videos, going back in time

You have to know that I was on site to film most of the videos I shot for this project but I also participated in most of these tournaments as a player. The 2010 World Footbag Championships was no exception and I had a lot of fun to play in this edition of the most important annual tournament in our sport. I was also proud to finish in 6th place in the open singles net competition although I don't have any images from my own matches as I only start to film from the semi finals on, usually. There was a lot of good action in the finals matches though and let's see how the women did in their doubles finals:

New footbag net videos are flowing out

The 2013 World Footbag Championships were in my hometown, Montreal, Quebec. I filmed all the net finals with 2 cameras, one in the back of the court and one on the side of the net where you can see all the acrobatics very clearly. I finally finished all the videos at the beginning of the month of december 2014 and you can see the results on the 2013 page of the site.

This was a lot of fun to make and I hope you'll enjoy to watch these great athletes kick as much as I did. 
My favorite match: The open doubles finals, as it should be, but it's not always the case. This is the most prestigious title as most players will practice much more doubles than singles in Footbag net.

Exciting times for Footbag

Finally is the first word that comes to my mind when I think about the adventures of FootbagArchives.com. I had my first footbag tournament filmed in 1989 right here in my hometown of Montreal. The images from this one are pretty degraded as it was shot in regular VHS but still one clip was produced with it and it will be published eventually.

The goal of this site is to make all of the video that I collected and edited available to the footbag community. First and foremost for the players to have souvenirs that are a little bit more solid that just their recollections. Secondly for all the ones who watched or were involved as players, tournament organizers and spectators. Of course it will also be useful for those who would want to study the game and the players that made it to the finals. Overall I always felt that a sport that is not well documented loses part of its legacy.

For this launch I will make available the finals of the five net categories at the 2014 and 2013 World Footbag Championships: Open singles, women singles, open doubles, women doubles and mixed double. There will be free previews available for each match and for those who would want to see the entire games, with the scores, they will be available on demand. The Montreal annual tournament the Akisphere 2014 is also ready in the form of the doubles finals.

I guess the match that the most people wanted to watch from Worlds 2014 is the singles finals as it's been a really long time since a player from the USA won that title. Randy Mulder was the last one to win it in 1997 and now the crown belongs to Walt Houston from Memphis, TN who defeated Florian Götze in 3 consecutive sets. Now a little bit more on the history of this site

As I mentioned earlier I started to document footbag tournaments in 1989. The first years I pretty much gathered video about the local tournament ''Le Championnat de Footbag de Montréal'' and some of these years nothing was filmed at all. In 1996 I organized the first World Footbag Championships out of the USA. That was the occasion to film with a little better quality.
